*To fulfill your 3 hours of yoga a week, you may attend yoga classes with any yoga teacher you choose. Try to take on class a week with me. Time spent doing your own practice at home also counts towards your in-class hours. Most importantly, find a variety in your learning. Also take time to figure out what you want would like to teach and then study from there.
*Each trainee interested in teaching will be assigned a class to intern based on your availability. Your internship requires you to commit to a certain time each week to assist in a specific class. Eventually, when you are ready, you will student teach with the assistance of the Teacher Trainer.
*Weekly meeting are held once a week on Thursdays from 6:00pm – 8:30pm at my home. This meeting is part of the core training and must be attended every week. Each meeting will have an assigned topic for which I’ll give a short lecture or demonstration, and then an open discussion or practice will follow.
*Weekend intensives will meet once each month from 12:00 – 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. A focused yoga class will be taught each day, followed by group and partner work on specific postures or techniques relating to what we are currently studying.
*Missing weekend training's, weekly meetings and internships should be kept to a minimum. Attendance should be your #1 priority. You will have to make the hours up in some other way. Please plan to attend unless you are sick.
*Each trainee must purchase a writing journal and a deep three-ring binder (you may also want to include subject separators and blank paper for notes). These supplies will be used thought the training. Bring your binder to all meetings, weekend training's. Your journal will be written in daily to keep track of your hours, practices, breakthroughs, and experiences.
*A subscription to Yoga Journal is highly recommended for the training. Seven issues for $19.95 (sometimes even less expensive) (800)600-YOGA, We have one text book: Yoga Mind, Body & Spirit by Donna Farhi ($20) which you must also purchase prior to the start of the training.
*There will be a written exam and a test on the last scheduled meeting. A journal review and a practice teaching (in front of your peers) will be held at the last Asana Intensive Weekend to completer the Certification process. Your Certification is awarded at the completion of the required hours and when all payments are received.
*This training is designed to give you a complete understanding of Hatha Yoga.
